#NoKings Rally

Join Rock This Democracy and Newtown Action Alliance at #NoKings Newtown on Saturday, October 18th! Come meet the various groups working to save our democracy and on other issues impacting our communities at the Dickinson Park Bandshell and Pavilion at 10 Brushy Hill Road in Newtown, Connecticut, from 12:30 to 2 pm.

For ample parking, best entrance is via Brushy Hill Road to Deep Brook Road. If there is rain we have the large covered pavilion area also reserved which has a smaller parking lot via Elm Drive entrance – but both entrance points have parking. At about 1:45 those at the park will begin moving to South Main Street where at 2 pm we will line the sidewalk of South Main Street (east side only) from Glover Avenue to as far as we may stretch towards Wassermann Way, keeping to the safe, HIGHLY VISIBLE flat sidewalk that stretches nearly a mile. BRING YOUR SIGNS! You can either walk to South Main from the park via Elm Drive and Hawley Road, where we will arrange for safe crossing of South Main via Hawley Road where road bridge is near Ram’s Pasture, or you can drive your car to find closer parking along Elm Drive, along Main Street north of it’s intersection with Route 302, or at various locations in center of town as you wish.
PLEASE NOTE: There no parking whatsoever along the side of the road along South Main Street. Sidewalk rally along South Main (east side only) will last at least one hour.
